De eerste editie van het boek Droomplanten in 1990 viel samen met het begin van een revolutie op het gebied van tuin- en landschapsarchitectuur. Tuinontwerpers Piet Oudolf en Henk Gerritsen stelden een boek samen waarin zij een nieuwe generatie vaste planten voor privétuinen en openbare ruimten beschreven. Sterke planten en grassen met een natuurlijker uitstraling, subtielere kleuren en een meer uitgesproken textuur en vorm waardoor ze ook na de bloei aantrekkelijk blijven. Inmiddels heeft deze stijl van ontwerpen en beplanten, bekend geworden onder de naam 'The New Perennial Movement', de wereld veroverd en is Piet Oudolf uitgegroeid tot een wereldberoemd en veelgevraagd ontwerper. De nieuwe editie van dit klassieke boek is aangepast aan deze tijd en bevat een groot aantal nieuwe planten en grassen, voorbeelden van plantcombinaties, praktische informatie, en veel schitterende, inspirerende foto's. Voor liefhebbers van Oudolfs stijl van beplanten biedt het boek inzicht in de bouwstenen van deze manier van beplanten. Tegelijkertijd is het de ultieme gids om ook in eigen tuin dezelfde sfeer te bereiken. De tuin van het Van Abbemuseum is een ontwerp van Piet Oudolf.

Droomplanten Piet Oudolf - De nieuwe generatie tuinplanten

"Piet Oudolf (Haarlem, 27 oktober 1944) is een internationaal bekende Nederlandse tuinarchitect. Hij woont en werkt sinds 1982 in Hummelo in de Gelderse Achterhoek. Met name in Zweden, Groot-Brittannië en de Verenigde Staten geniet hij aanzienlijke bekendheid[1]. Naar eigen zeggen wordt hij in Groot-Brittannië weleens herkend op straat, terwijl zijn werk in Nederland niet op lijkt te vallen[2]. Oudolfs bekendste werk is waarschijnlijk zijn ontwerp van de Gardens of Remembrance in New York. Deze tuinen herinneren aan de mensen die omkwamen tijdens de aanslagen op 11 september 2001[3]. Piet Oudolf, wijlen Henk Gerritsen van de Prionatuinen en schilder/ontwerper Ton ter Linden worden gezien als de belangrijkste representanten van The Dutch Wave. Natuurlijke plantengemeenschappen, kunst en tijd (seizoenen) zijn hun inspiratiebronnen. De privétuin (4.000 m²) van Oudolf aan de Broekstraat in Hummelo is open voor publiek. De tuin hoort bij de boerderij die de naam De Koesterd draagt. Deze boerderij stamt uit 1850 en herbergde vroeger een pension. De bijbehorende kwekerij wordt hoofdzakelijk door Oudolfs vrouw beheerd. De Oudolfs zijn gespecialiseerd in siergrassen en zijn belangrijke initiators van het verschijnen van siergrassen in tuinen over de hele wereld. De Grassendagen in september trokken jaarlijks honderden bezoekers uit binnen- en buitenland. De kwekerij is op 15 november 2010 gesloten[4]

Delivery

Count on 2 to 5 working days before your order is delivered. The actual delivery date depends on PostNL so we cannot therefore tell you exactly when the cards will be delivered. When you order a product over the weekend, the order will be processed on Tuesday. The order will be delivered at the earliest on Wednesday.

Cancelling an order
You cannot cancel an order. You will receive confirmation of your order by e-mail after placing and paying for your order. Your order is then also immediately sent to the printer.

Returning an order
You cannot return individual art cards. They have been printed especially for you, with your text and address. You can return card sets or other products subject to conditions.

Please contact our Customer Service Department before returning an order, so that we can serve you more quickly.

When to return?
A right-of-return period of 14 days applies to orders and it is effective from the first day after the day on which the product was delivered. Unless otherwise stated, you are entitled to inspect, appraise and/or try the product(s) during this period.

After you have received your order, please immediately check the item(s) for any damage and incompleteness. If you see any damage or incompleteness, please contact Customer Service as soon as possible.

If you are not satisfied with an item, you can return it. This does not apply to discounted products. You can return items:

  • within the right-of-return period of 14 days
  • if the item is incomplete
  • in its original state and factory packaging – insofar as this is in fairness possible
  • Some items cannot be returned. Here it concerns:
    • products that have been tailored to your specifications
    • items that are clearly of a personal nature or which cannot be sent back due to their nature
    • products for which the seal has been broken

Always keep a copy of dispatch just in case the items returned do not arrive at their destination.

How to return a package
Check whether the item, any associated accessories and the original packaging are, where in fairness possible, still intact and in their original state.
Ensure that the package is wrapped properly, so that the item arrives at our address undamaged. Put the following address on the return packaging:

Post your package at a post office and make sure it has sufficient postage. Small packages can also be posted directly in a post box. You must pay the costs of return yourself.

You will receive the purchase amount, including the costs of dispatch to you, as soon as possible and no later than 30 days. This term starts at the moment that you return the items or when you indicate that you wish to return them. Damaged products cannot be refunded, unless the product is returned because of damage found upon their receipt.
